Atlanta office opening enhances opportunities for growth, improved customer support
Sunnyvale, CA – December 20, 2013 – Mblox, the leader in mobile business-to-person engagement, today announced several strategic corporate updates, including the opening of a new office in the Atlanta suburb of Sandy Springs to house the company’s network operations, support and finance departments. The expansion, set to open in 2014, will initially create 75-100 new jobs in metro Atlanta, with the goal of further building the workforce with Atlanta’s mobile talent. Mblox’s Atlanta office joins Tokyo, Japan and Prague, Czech Republic as recent additions to the company’s global footprint, complementing existing offices in Paris, London, and Singapore, as well as the corporate headquarters in Silicon Valley.
“This has been a breakout year for Mblox,” said CEO Tom Cotney. “Through market expansion and talent acquisition, we’ve positioned the company for continued growth. Atlanta gives us the right venue from which to fully serve the business. The depth of IT, telecommunications and mobile talent, along with a great cost of living were the deciding factors over other choices.”
The availability of talent extends beyond daily operations, as the company just completed a number of executive hires. “My focus has been to expand the talent on the senior team to match the potential of the company,” explained Cotney.
In the summer of this year, Mblox added IBM Global Services veterans Bronwyn Guthrie, as general manager, Americas to run sales and marketing, and Edward Santulli as senior vice president and chief information officer, operations and customer service. The company also added Stacy Adams as vice president of marketing.
This fall it added John Stone, former CFO of S1 Corporation, as chief financial officer and Mark Herold, a veteran of EasyLink Services, as vice president of global human resources. In addition, Bruce Bales was added as vice president of product management. All new members of the executive team have deep roots in the mobile and technology industries and bring a fresh perspective on strategic opportunities for growth.
